SWE Sets Stage for
WE10 Annual Conference

CHICAGO – February 16, 2010 –
Following a highly successful gathering of women engineering professionals, collegians, educators, and corporate and government recruiters at the Society of Women Engineers’ (SWE) WE09 Annual Conference, the Society is now planning WE10. Filled with one-of-a-kind learning and professional advancement opportunities, WE10 further empowers women to launch their own innovations and define their own success. WE10 will also serve as the finale of SWE60, the Society’s yearlong 60th Anniversary Celebration that commenced at WE09.

“WE10 will offer women in engineering and technology a unique forum to advance their careers, develop leadership skills and honor the Society’s legacy through the SWE60 Anniversary Celebration,” says Betty Shanahan, executive director and CEO. “SWE60 recognizes our strong history and breakthrough contributions achieved by women engineers who have defined success on their own terms.”

WE10, with a fitting theme of Launching Innovation. Defining Success., will take place Nov. 4-6, 2010 in Orlando, Fla., where participants will deepen their knowledge and experiences through workshops, seminars, technical tours and presentations by industry experts. Workshops and seminars will focus on seven tracks: Career and Life Transitions, Careers in Academia, Careers in Government and Military, Inclusion and Cultural Awareness, Innovation in Technology and Business, Management and Strategy, and Outreach. Attendees may also attend the WE10 Career Fair featuring industry-leading corporations, government agencies and graduate schools. Many of these Career Fair exhibitors will be conducting job interviews onsite.

SWE is currently looking for individuals and companies to participate in WE10 – from providing session content and presentations to hosting technical tours. To be a part of the experience, or for more information, please visit the Call for Participation page.
